Hey all Travelling down "SOUTH"....... huhhh??? I was never sure.......apparently the only reason; not a big fan of "South Indian Food".......... I know it's hilarious.......but a wicked truth.......hahahaha!!!  But finally "South" happened, this July.  "Devanshi" bestie, my soul sister started working in Mysore(Karnataka) .  So, from last October "Mysore" was very much on cards. Lucknow to Bengaluru, and then another 4 hrs and Mysore.  Approximately 2100 kms away from home, everything seemed different, fascinating and exciting to me. I was totally in "LOVE" with this new surroundings; be it the lovely weather, the rich greenery , the coconut trees, or the attire of locals(specially the gajra's). I was anxiously looking around like a happy kid. I was picked up by Devanshi from bus stand, and we commenced towards home. "Pinni",  the street dog, plumpy cute dog, welcomed me with waggin...

To travel is to be free! And when those who are closest to you, join you for one such venture, it's the mo st beautiful journey ever. I am writing this on e as a guest, because the owner of this blog is the best sister in the world, and this particular journey gave me so many memories with her to cherish. The destination is Chikmagalur-Mullayangiri, the highest range in Karnataka... and when hills are calling, there is no second thoughts to it! My base is Mysore and we booked a small cab for 4 people. The cab companies usually charge by kilometers and for small cars, it is Rs.7 per kilometer (Driver charges and other charges excluded). Distance between Mysore and Chikmagalur is approximately 140 Km. Since it's a long distance and takes almost 4 hours to reach, we started from Mysore by 5.00 am in the morning. Hey all BJP or Congress??? Talk of the town ; it was decisive day !! Election results were to be out in few hrs. People were excited and nervous at same time!!! Wanting their favourite party to win. Shops were closed........... roads were empty. And "Guess" what??? We have to proceed  to Kausani, 60 kms from Ranikhet!!! At such a difficult time;  Mr.Adhikari(driver uncle),   an old man around 60 years, emerged  as our "Savior" . He initiated to drop us to Kausani; as hardly any driver was available on that particular day. As per scheduled, he reached early morning to pick us from our Guest House, in his "Old Maruti Van". Bye Bye Ranikhet !!! Kausani here we come..... So, there we go...... Initially half of the distance to Kausani is at inclination. Regular mountain route, nothing so special. But the special was the conversation between my Dad and Adhikari ji; pros and cons of BJP and Congress......which party...

Hey all One resides at Odisha, the "Konark Surya Temple" aka Sun Temple and the other at Haughty Mountains of Almora distt., in a small village known as "Katarmal Surya Temple" aka Katarmal Sun Temple.  The former "The Most Renowned", while the later "The Hidden Gem" of Kumaon region. Both are true masterpiece of art and structure. Also Read :  Kumaon "The Dev Bhoomi" ,one such amazing place Ranikhet!!! It was afternoon by now, Ranikhet darshan was done."Growl" .....ohhh my hungry stomach was calling for some food,but to my surprise Ranikhet main market does't offer any good restaurants. Luckily, we came across a small Dhaba near Ranikhet bus stand, where we filled our stomachs.  Now what??? After all, we hired the car for the entire day!!! It's only 3:00pm by now. I remembered about "Shitalakhet" and "Katarmal Surya Temple" (Thanks to Google uncle). Shitalakhet ...
